The 6th Legends of Blues Festival--Down to earth blues high in the Snowy Mountains
The 6th Legends of Blues Festival takes over the village of Thredbo from
15th-17th January 1999. Thredbo village is a great festival host, with 16
performance venues ranging from bars, nightclubs, restaurants, outdoors and
a mountain top restaurant, allowing you to leave cars and walk from venue to
venue and then back to where you're staying. All styles of accommodation are
available in the village from hostel to hotel style. Free camping is just 10
minutes drive from the village. Weekend festival tickets are $60 with student
tickets available.

The Backsliders have finished recording their new album, a celebration
of 10 years together titled Downtime. The album is due to be released
in the next couple of months.
In other news about The Backsliders, Dominic Turner has formed another
electric band named Supro. This band has recorded an album already, titled
Electro-Vee and due for release sometime around August.
Geoff Achison has released a video of his Mystery Train CD launch gig.
The video features nearly an hour and a half of Geoff playing solo and with
guests Marco Goldsmith and Jeff Lang. To get a copy of the video, contact

On Saturday 28th February, the first Morning Star Blues & Roots Concert will
be held to raise funds for Peninsula Hospice Service. Bands playing at the
concert include Dutch Tilders, Kelly Auty, Alex Burns and Nick Charles,
Marco Goldsmith, Midnight Special, The Paramount Trio and more.
The concert will be held at Morning Star Estate, 1 Sunnyside Rd, Mt Eliza,

As part of the Mushroom Records 25th Anniversary celebrations, a special
event has been organised at the Mercury Lounge at Crown Casino, Melbourne.
This event is the Legends Of Sunbury gig, featuring Ariel, Chain
and Billy Thorpe, on Friday 20th February starting at 9:30pm.

Well, updating this site every few months is really becoming the norm I'm
afraid. Since the last update, I have changed the tools used to generate the
site and completely re-built the whole thing from the ground up. You won't
really notice any difference visually, but I can assure you that things have
changed quite radically behind the scenes. I am hoping that updating may
become a little easier now and hence maybe more frequent.
The directory structure that is used by this site has changed completely,
so anyone that has a link directly to a band page will need to change that
link to point to the new page. My apologies for the inconvenience.
