Anyone who thinks that young people are not interested in the blues has
obviously not met Lloyd Spiegel. Since forming Midnight Special when he
was only 13, Lloyd has gone on to become one of the youngest veterans around.
As vocalist and primary songwriter with Midnight Special, Lloyd played
at many festivals and supported many other acts such as Chain, Jimmy Barnes,
The Angels, Dave Hole and the Badloves. He has also toured the US, playing
with artists such as Brownie McGhee and the James Cotton Band. He managed
all this before completing high school!
Since the split of Midnight Special, Lloyd has been concentrating on
improving his already impressive songwriting skills, and honing his solo
act. It is not an exaggeration to say that this young man has a bright future
indeed.
